Meryl does a stellar job with this book to highlight the aspects of parenting that can often be forgotten in the hustle and bustle that is modern-day life. Enlightened Parenting pushes you to remember all of your strengths and gives key tips on how to preserve your inner peace in efforts to be the best parent possible. I am truly glad that I read this book and I look forward to implementing more of the great recommendations made in Meryl's book!

Meryl David's Landau is a ray of light and her book resonates so deeply with me. She is honest, human, genuine and gracious in her essays and throughout the book. Meryl is a great writer and her books are refreshing to read. Enlightened Parenting touches on one of the most important aspects of parenting - the soulful journey to connect with your child and with thy self. It's about understanding the " WHY " of parenting and knowing that through all the struggles and strife, there is an enormous opportunity to grow spiritually, evolve your consciousness and discover who you need to be. It's like a certain hearty soup for the soul for parents and parents-to-be. In one essay, Landau discusses the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who prod us higher. This book does just that, keeping the reader in the company of a wise mom who feels like a close friend. The best teachers don't tell people what to do but inspire them to do what feels right for themselves. After reading this book, l feel more prepared to embrace a journey for which nothing can prepare me and at peace with the not knowing—and for that reason alone, I highly recommend it to parents as well as couples intending to journey into parenthood.
Meryl Davids Landau new book Enlightened Parenting is a must-read for any parent trying to raise their children in a spiritual yet practical way. I've read many parenting books. Some I've laughed at they were so impractical. Not Enlightened Parenting. Each essay is short enough to read in the precious few minutes moms often have, yet full of information easy to put in to practice. Too many parenting books, and spiritual life books, seem written by someone who has no real understanding of the reality of raising children. This book is refreshingly different. No matter your religion, or lack of religion, the spiritual advice is easy to understand and easy to apply. Landau doesn't write a list of rules or sermons, she doesn't recommend chore charts or discipline, instead she shares what has worked in her family. Even better, she shares the times she also struggled to remain spiritually grounded. Landau understands the frustrations of parenting while sharing advice, guidance and love.
This book is a wonderful resource for parents - to reinforce and support the journey .
